Meet Soraya
Soraya Cole
Associate
North Carolina Central University School of Law
Admitted: New York
MULTILINGUAL, MULTITALENTED
Long before Soraya found her calling, she found ways to challenge her intellect. She began learning Spanish in middle school and French in college, becoming fluent thanks to stints in Senegal, France, and Spain as well as a summer at the prestigious Middlebury Language School in Vermont.
“I love learning languages and enjoyed teaching English abroad,” she says, “but I wasn’t fully challenged so I decided to study law.”
With a dual JD/MBA and experience in workers’ comp, we were thrilled to welcome Soraya to our growing team. Her talent for number crunching and courtroom prowess have already made her an asset.
“Analyzing and applying legal strategy is always rewarding, but arguing my case in front of a judge is especially satisfying.”
Soraya believes being trilingual also affords an advantage. “Foreign languages have a way of helping you view concepts from different angles, which can make you more articulate and nuanced in your thinking.”
Onboarded by Stacee Vaikness, Soraya felt immediately welcomed by our tight-knit culture. As a deeply family-oriented woman, she appreciates the work/life balance we strive to achieve.
“It’s clear to me that people come first here,” she smiles. “Naturally, we’re striving for excellence every day, but that never comes at the expense of personal relationships.”
Soraya is the proud wife of a soon-to-be pastor who studies at Elim Bible Institute & College and also counsels people through addiction recovery. They live in upstate New York and adore their two precious pups. “Our cavapoo Plum is the love bug and our maltipoo Panda is the protector, which makes her the resident barker.”
After hours, Soraya supports causes such as Compassion International and Food for the Hungry, spends time with her church family, and is always up for extra spicy cuisines. “Jalapeños make everything better!”
We are SO excited to welcome Soraya aboard.
