YES, AND...
A student of iconic training grounds such as Upright Citizens Brigade and The Peoples Improv Theater, Sarah’s “yes, and” approach to life and work makes her an outstanding attorney, colleague, and friend.
Starting life in tiny Marcellus, New York, a one-stoplight town outside of Syracuse, Sarah boasts an impressive lineage. Her grandfather, who had an active law license well into his 90s, is a retired New York State Supreme Court Judge. Her aunt is the Town Justice in Marcellus.
“Growing up around these pillars of the legal profession inspired me to pursue law,” she says. “Studying at GW, living in Washington, and interning on Capitol Hill further cemented my passion for law.”
Like several of our attorneys, Sarah represented claimants for many years before joining the firm. “When it was time for a change, I knew this was the place for me,” she says. “The team at Jones Jones always had an impressive perspective on cases. They were always professional and dedicated and clearly love what they do.”
Clients appreciate Sarah’s easy-going approach and unique ability to assess a case from every angle. She can foresee the trajectory of cases thanks to her experience navigating injured workers through the complexities of NYS workers’ compensation laws and processes. Now, she guides our clients through the process with an eye towards early resolution and settlement.
An accomplished athlete, Sarah was recently inducted into the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame for her leadership as co-captain of the Marcellus Girls Soccer Team. She’s also an avid volunteer who is dedicated to the work of New York Cares and God’s Love We Deliver, non-profit organizations whose programs address hunger, homelessness, education, and health care while cultivating the city’s green spaces.
Sarah’s interests outside of work are as diverse and surprising as you’d imagine. Topping the list are music, comedy, record collecting, and tackling complicated Lego architecture. “Dolly Parton is my idol. I’ve seen her in person three times and been to Dollywood twice,” she laughs.
On the home front, Sarah has a family she adores including her parents, two sisters, and three nephews who know they have the coolest aunt around.
“It’s been awesome working with everyone at Jones Jones,” says Sarah. “They could not have been more welcoming as I transitioned from adversary to colleague.”
