THE TEXAN WITH A TACTICAL MIND
Michael Nunn thrives on challenges––whether it’s tackling complex legal issues or diving into creative pursuits.
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, he was drawn to law for its intellectual rigor and the opportunity to make an impact. “There’s so much variability in the things you encounter as a lawyer,” he says. “It keeps you thinking and evolving.”
Michael first connected with Jones Jones through the firm’s training program. After successfully completing it, he knew he had found the right fit. “The culture here is something special,” he says. “The attorneys are incredibly positive, supportive, and family-oriented. It’s rare to find that in a law firm.”
Workers’ compensation law, with its wide-reaching implications for both employers and employees, keeps Michael engaged. “The scope of this field is immense,” he notes. “It applies to almost any workplace scenario, which makes every day dynamic and rewarding.”
An outgoing and naturally affable person, Michael approaches legal challenges with a creative mindset. A lover of music, travel, and writing, he enjoys bringing fresh perspectives to problem-solving. “Creative thinking is essential in law,” he says. “It helps you navigate roadblocks and find solutions that others might not see.”
Michael’s caring nature extends beyond the legal world. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a teenager, he understands firsthand the ups and downs of managing a chronic condition. His younger brother shares the same diagnosis, making the cause even more personal. Together with family and friends, they participate in the annual Walk for a Cure in Texas as “Team Nunn,” raising funds for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) and supporting research for a cure.
And when he’s not in the courtroom? You might find him writing about music. Michael has even had concert reviews published by OkayPlayer, the hip-hop platform founded by Questlove of The Roots.
At Jones Jones, Michael brings his passion, strategic thinking, and drive to every case. “A successful outcome means meeting a client’s needs while staying true to the integrity of the law,” he says. “At the end of the day, it’s about solving problems and making a difference.”
