CLARITY IS KING
Jonathan was drawn to law early on, but wasn’t exactly sure why.
“Honestly? At first, I just thought attorneys were cool,” he laughs. “Then I realized there was much more to it than arguing in court. It’s using your mind and your words as tools to change lives.”
A native New Yorker, Jonathan grew up in Queens with parents who immigrated from El Salvador. Watching his family navigate legal systems in a foreign language still shapes his practice today.
Before joining Jones Jones, Jonathan put in serious time in workers’ comp as a paralegal. He drafted stipulations, motions, and forms long before he had a license in hand.
Once licensed, he represented juveniles in immigration cases—personal work that was both meaningful and rewarding. But ultimately, workers’ comp drew him back.
“It’s simple and complex at the same time,” he says. “Fast-paced. Challenging. I like that.”
Day to day, Jonathan works with our defense teams on hearings, return-to-work disputes, and permanency matters. His approach is appreciated: constant communication, no legal jargon.
“I explain things so my clients actually understand them. Whether we’re speaking English or Spanish, clarity is everything.”
Jonathan thrives in an environment where growth is ongoing. “Every case is different,” he says. “No matter how much you know, there’s always room to learn something new.”
For him, success is simple: a resolution that sticks. “A successful outcome is one where there’s little to no chance of the same issue returning.”
When he’s off the clock, Jonathan stays in motion. He strength trains, bikes the city, and swears by the structure that fitness brings to his life and law practice.
When it’s time to reset, he turns to punk rock and true crime podcasts. Headphones in, mind clear, prepping for what’s next.
