FROM CONFLICT TO RULE OF LAW
Edvin’s path to law began far from a courtroom.
Born in Montenegro, then part of the former Yugoslavia, he fled to the United States with his family in 1994 during the Balkan Wars.
“That experience was formative,” he says. “I witnessed firsthand what happens when the rule of law is non-existent.”
Practicing law in the U.S. was both intentional and deeply meaningful, a way to serve the system that gave his family refuge. His younger brother, Edin, followed in his footsteps, turning many family gatherings into spirited legal debates.
Before joining Jones Jones, Edvin spent a decade honing his litigation skills throughout New York. Coming from the plaintiff side, he knows exactly how claims are constructed, valued, and strategically positioned. He understands how opposing counsel develops leverage — and how to neutralize it.
“I’ve built cases from the ground up,” he explains. “That perspective helps me anticipate arguments and stay several steps ahead.”
Recruited by his colleague Daniel Levit, Edvin was drawn to the firm’s collaborative culture and its reputation for excellence in a field where precision and credibility matter.
Before becoming a litigator, Edvin was competing at the highest level. As a member of the Syracuse University Division I Men’s Soccer Team in the Big East Conference, he learned why preparation is power and how composure under pressure can change outcomes.
Those lessons shape his client relationships. He prioritizes clear communication and practical assessments with steady follow-through. For Edvin, a successful outcome means delivering the best possible result while ensuring clients feel heard and understood throughout the process.
Outside the office, he remains passionate about fitness and competition.
And while discipline defines much of his life, he admits one consistent weakness.
Chocolate, especially in the form of ice cream.
